Jessica has been helping students and families achieve a harmonious and empowered approach to college admissions since 2009. While she has worked with students throughout the country (as well as internationally), she is best known to families in the San Francisco Bay Area and Sacramento region. As an experienced counselor, Jessica brings a passion for education as well as the warmth and intuition that enables her to build strong relationships with students and families. Her goal is not just to help her students get in to college, but to empower them with the skills, independence, and excitement that will help them thrive as adults. Jessica's background in mental health and advocacy is an asset that has enabled her to create a unique, highly individualized approach to college counseling and teaching. In 2021, she published her first book, College Admission Essays for Dummies. She is a current member of the International Association for Professional Writers and Editors (IAPWE).
Jessica received her Masters in Counseling Psychology (SFSU) and has a background in family and child counseling. Previously, she received a B.A. in Comparative Literature from Columbia University and a B.A. in Jewish History from Albert A. List College. When she is not working with teenagers or writing, Jessica is the busy parent of three children.
